St. Helena Church and School, Edison | New Jersey, New Jersey

Situated on the corner of Grove Avenue, St. Helena is a red brick building amongst sparse suburban houses with lots of lawn area and is a generally quiet area. This bingo hall has a large community both as congregation, general local popularity, and the regular bingo players are a community within themselves! A lot of the players have been regulars for a long time and know each other, forming an online hub to connect both virtually and in-person.

What is the Local Area Like?

With a main road and great street access, St Helena is bordered by white, porched suburban homes. There is a large well-maintained field outside the premises, with a fence to give an element of privacy to the grounds. Located right near two fire stations and a school, St Helena is a wonderful place to play bingo, in a prime location with plenty of signs to help you along the way if you're new to the area or trying out this particular bingo hall for the first time. There are a lot of local places nearby, like a library and several independent businesses. However, eating places are sparse in this direct area, but St Helena offers hot food to buy, so there's really no major problem there!

Is there food available?

In St Helena, playing bingo isn't just sitting in a cold, empty hall while a boring caller drones on, no! Here, there's a friendly gathering waiting to meet you, and not only that, but there's food available to buy on-site for much cheaper than it would be in further-out diners! Doors open several hours before the game starts, and so people can go in early, buy a bingo book, grab a hotdog or burger (or even some fries!), and get munching and chatting while they wait! The food available overall reduces the cost of the evening for players. While there is a fee to pay for food, it's much more affordable than chains nearby might offer, or even independent diners. So to have a good game or two of bingo, socializing, and a bite to eat, all for an affordable budget through the week is really quite the attraction!

Onsite Parking

When choosing a local bingo hall as both a driver and frequent user of public transport, parking spaces and bus stops or train stations are very important to consider. Over 75% of Edison's population drive their own cars. Parking space in all public places is a must. It's quite essential. And as St Helena bingo hall is in a half-public, half-residential area, there's plenty of parking availability! On the grounds, there is parking, but there is also street parking available too!

Unfortunately, there are not many public transport links in this particular area, but not too far a walk means that several bus routes pass through Edison, and then everything is very accessible on foot.

In conclusion, St Helena's is a wonderful bingo hall, and not only does it have all these facilities, but it also has games three nights a week. Doors open at 4pm on a Thursday. Early bird access is granted from 6:45pm, and the games will start at 7pm.

But for those wanting to get out a little earlier, St Helena has more bingo games on the weekend. Doors open at 3pm, with games starting at 5pm. Bingo books--serving as tickets--are $5, with any additional books being only $3! The prices are universal for all days. Furthermore, this bingo hall sells ink daubers for less than $2, which comes in very handy for those regular players.
